SmooCho

SmooCho is a dessert brand from India, now expanded to the UAE as well.

visit site: smoocho.insmoocho.ae

The SmooCho homepage on both screens — on the desktop, the pink hero reading "The Taste Lasts Forever!" with a See the Menu button and the Milky Milkybar pack, and Our Signature Products beginning below it; beside it a phone showing the same page stacked for mobile, open at smoocho.in.

Their old website had an incomplete design. I was asked to completely redesign the website and build one website for India and another for the UAE in Arabic. The main purpose of the website was to showcase the menu and list the outlets.

Before
The old SmooCho homepage — a cream page with a small logo in a floating white bar, a single dark chocolate cup adrift in the middle, the heading "Indulge in Pure Chocolate Bliss at Smoo-Cho" over three italic taglines, and an "About Us" heading beginning below.
After
The redesigned homepage — a deep pink hero carrying the full navigation, the headline "The Taste Lasts Forever!" with a See the Menu button, and the Milky Milkybar pack shot in a carousel with arrows and dots.

I listed the signature products with a CTA to see the full menu. On the full product menu page, the products are listed with product images, prices, and categories.

The "Our Signature Products" section — a three-column grid of Choco Tsunami, Biggies Cerelac and French Kiss, each with a pack shot, a short description and a price tag (₹229, ₹249, ₹449), with a second row beginning below.
The full products page under the category heading "Smoocho Signature" — the same grid on the pink brand background, each product with its image, a one-line description and its price.

The previous site listed some outlets as a grid, but the outlet count expanded to 75+ outlets. So listing them in a grid would make it difficult for users to find the right outlet. Because of this, I added a store locator to the home screen.

The "Find a SmooCho near you" section on the home page — State, District and City dropdowns inside a white card with a Search button and a "See all branches" link, sitting just above the footer.

The store locator filters stores by state, district, and city. The search result shows the Google Maps location, an Open in Maps button, and a Call Store button.

A search result — Kerala, Kozhikode and Kozhikode selected in the three dropdowns, and a card below showing the Google Maps location with a pin, "SmooCho Treats South Beach" with its street address, and Open in Google Maps and Contact store buttons.

The UAE version of the website needed Arabic by default and also needed to be switchable between English and Arabic. This was an idea I proposed to the stakeholders. They liked it, so I implemented it.

The exact same design loads with an Arabic experience and can be switched to English with a single button click in the header.

The UAE site in Arabic — the whole interface running right to left, the navigation in Arabic, the headline "حلويات صُنعت لتُشارك" with an "استعرض القائمة" button, the Smoocho Bueno pack shot, and an AR/EN switch in the corner.

Competitor Analysis

I did a competitor analysis and found a feature that I felt SmooCho should have. It was the franchise application feature, which I borrowed from the competitor Sign Laban.

I proposed the idea and explained its importance. It was implemented after stakeholder approval.

I designed a simple form that does not make the application process hectic for the user, while also making it easy for SmooCho to collect and find franchise leads.

The franchise enquiry page — "Become a SmooCho partner today." beside a white form card split into General information (name, phone) and Location information (state, district, city, location preference), with a certification checkbox underneath.
The same page once the form is sent — the card now reads "APPLICATION RECEIVED / Thank you for your interest", promises a reply within five working days, and offers a Submit another application button.

I also added a Contact page where users can see all store contacts and search by store name or place using filters.

The Contact page — "75+ SmooCho outlets in India", a type-to-search field, All states and All cities filters, a "Showing 12 of 56 stores" count, and a grid of branch cards each carrying an address, a phone number and Call store and Directions buttons.

Development

The entire website was designed and developed by myself.

The website's products and store details can be edited using a simple backend sheet. Leads from the franchise form are stored in a simple sheet database, and the team gets notified by email whenever a new lead comes in.

I designed, developed, and deployed smoocho.in for India and smoocho.ae for the UAE.

Both websites use the same design, but the UAE website includes Arabic, and the product and store databases are separate for India and the UAE.

The entire design was created under the SmooCho brand theme.
